I read Borges as a clueless young person and didn’t try hard enough. I shall try again, in Spanish, of course.

In my experience the ‘great’ writers are too much for a young mind to ‘understand’. I read them, for various reasons, and moved on. After I lived a bit, (and maybe even because of how my life unfolded), I, (sometimes), return/d to absorb their true depth. Music also.
