  3. This one NEEDS a comment. Not only women sing/feel/experience so. Think of Smokey Robinson’s… The Tracks Of My Tears.

  4. Just listened to this “I’m gonna tear your playhouse down” again and I’m hit by a question…. Why ladies? Why? Its your playhouse too you know. Or is that it? You don’t know!!!

  5. Or perhaps… don’t want to know!!! Why? Because it doesn’t fit the role anymore. In fact, the very word “role” doesn’t exist anymore… it’s now considered chauvinistic.

But doesn’t that then beggar the question… what about us!!!

So, as a personal plea to all you feminists out there, listen to the easy lyrics of musicology #25, a top 60’s song, sung beautifully by a great lady from those “softer” days when we all – lads and lasses – didn’t have to mind our gender P’s and Q’s….. unlike today!!!

“don’t wanna hully-gully, don’t wanna do the twist, I just wanna sit an talk a with ya baby, all night long about the things we missed together,

so if you just think a little, sugar, if you just think a little, sugar, you’ll find we’ve wasted enough of our valuable time-ime-ime,

don’t wanna hear no radio, don’t wanna hear no jazzaazz, I just wanna and sit and talk a with ya baby, tell you just how lonely I have bin,

so just think a little, sugar, think a little, sugar, and you’ll find we’ve wasted enough of our valuable time-ime-ime,

if we could have stayed together, I know, the days and months we spent alone,
would have bin the love of all the years, and there wouldn’t have bin any tear-e-e-ears,

    buuut
I don’t wanna talk about the past, or the …… that is gone, I just wanna sit and talk a with ya baby, all about the future ‘cos its bin so long,

so just think a little sugar, think a little sugar, and you’ll find you’ve wasted enough of our valuable time-ime-ime, and you’ll find we’ve wasted enough of that-uh, enough of that-uh, enough of that-uh-uh.”

Sorry if I’ve gone on a bit…. I’ve just been through one of those all to painful, all to regular, all to long-winded, all to draining, battle of the sexes. Needless to say…. I lost!!!
