musicology

One of the primary motivations driving themusicologist is to explore, share and discuss the power music has to change or influence feelings, society and state of mind.

Being deeply moved, comforted, excited and inspired by music, since birth, it is the universal language that has consistently delivered vibrations of knowledge and profound wisdom. Providing comfort and strength to make it through the darkest hours of lifes journey, (and there have been many), as well as being ever present to herald in the good times. Resulting in a passion for recorded sound that recognises no style, age or genre boundries.

This forum is for connecting ideas and people using music as the focus to determine a strategy for navigating a changing society that places too much importance on the economy at the expense of creativity and freedom. Join me in the debate about how to raise core knowledge levels within a framework for continuous musicological innovation and how best to integrate these ideas into creative projects.

a good example of the freedom music brings is the fact that I have just sat/danced to 3 fabulous pieces of music on this site instead of doing chores…and I’m smiling!

dancing also brings such a sense of freedom, something that people often do less of as they
get older. The music in 1962 was a call to dance
and still mostly in tandem with another person, and the jive being the main dance demanded up beat lively rythms even when the lyrics spoke of losing in love..its hard to stay sad when your jiving.

countess…sounds like yin & yang to me..up beat rhythms, lowdown vocals.. music certainly stirs all emotions. I find that the objectivity is that it expresses them definitively.
